May 2023 Karen has contributed to 'Queer Life, Queer Love 2 The Second Anthology' by Julia Bell and Matt Bates. Pre-order your copy here.
This sparkling collection, published in May 2023, features voices across all narrative forms with 44 stories, poems, essays, and flash-fiction, capturing the very best of international queer writing today.
This is writing that explores characters, stories, and experiences beyond the mainstream; works that celebrate the fascinating, the forbidden, the subversive, and even the mundane, but, in essence, works that express the view from outside. Humorous, serious, autobiographical, and revelatory – all aspects of the queer experience are reflected in this dazzling collection.
29 March - 03 April Karen was part of Hold Fast a group exhibition at Peckham's Copeland Gallery ,
We must hold fast to our rocks that provide us with joy in times of need. Hold fast, be responsible, stay true and you will not only survive the storm, but you will be stronger because you made it through.
A reflective, optimistic and uplifting exhibition of work by three female creators, artist Jane Dinmore, multidisciplinary artist Louise Gray and author/poet/performer Karen McLeod with a special culinary collaboration for the opening night by MasterChef UK winner and judge Steven Wallis.
All three artists explored the pausing of the mind with responses to the unspoken life through language and colour. Fragments of memory and pieces of conversation sparked paintings, drawings, audio, movement and written word. Interruptions and misunderstandings when trying to pause were also themes encountered in all three artist’s work.
